Thoughts after presentation - Task 4

THOUGHTS AFTER PRESENTATION - TASK 4

For task 4 we were asked to get into a group and begin branding a company we got given a job role and were asked to in our groups of 3 make a logo , the branding and some guidelines for the company we had come up with. In my group there was charlie , Issy and i . We got give welders so decided we would go down the route of being furniture makers a bespoke business.

Before we began the session we looked at some branding guidelines done by other companies so we could see what was actually meant by the term.

For example Film 4: They had a lot of branding guidelines very specific and unique for there logo. i think this is very important as film 4 is sdistinguished and its obvious because of these branding guidelines no advertisers  or other company has perhaps used a different colour of it or not put enough spacing around it.

How well did we work as a group?

We worked really well as a group we didn't disagree on anything and spent quite a while branding our little company once we had decided we would be furniture designers for a bespoke welding company everything else just worked together. We put everything onto a mind map this way helps get everything out of our head and on to paper. It was nice that there was 3 of us because we split the work load evenly then come back together to put our branding guidelines.

Presenting -

I think when we were presenting there wasn't much communication or structure. But apart from that we were all quite comfortable speaking to our group so maybe a practice run first would have helped our presentation to flow better.

What did i get from the session?

I found this session really helpful it really helped me and Beth as were working on our monotype brief and we are in the middle of making our branding guidelines. We didn't realise how precise some of them were so we are going to look through the examples given to us. I also found it helpful working in small groups with people i don't usually work with and working to a tight deadline helped us excel and all put the effort in.
