Asos - Finalising aesthetics

ASOS FINALISING AESTHETICS

I decided to make sure i had all of the final choices and aesthetics before i could carry on designing everything.
The main aesthetics are the styles that i have running through each part of my design throughout the app & Look book.

First main point was to finalise the geometric/monochrome pattern. Using a pattern Carmel had drew i decided to make it digital i felt i would be able to incorporate it into my the look book or on the App

The patterns she drew -

I made them digital then alternated with purple and black.

I next looked at using a much more simple black and white monochrome pattern that could be used in the style of a repeat pattern this would help if i wanted to make clipping masks or simply just have a rectangle of that design/pattern.

I immediately began testing the most recent monochrome pattern with my front cover. Carmel produced the one the left but i decided to make it simpler. as the pattern didn't fit with the models jacket i felt although it clashed.

I felt the cover simply looked better without the pattern as it didn't need it.

I still was unsure with the pattern we had so kept experimenting i much preferred this pattern as it interlinks i felt it looks very digital and fitting for the style of the app.
I tried this pattern with the landing page of the App and i knew straight away this was the pattern i would use. As me and Carmel wanted it to be monochrome i think we were both pleased because there was the right black and white balance.

LOOK BOOK -

With the Look Book i am only at the first stages but so far i have used the pattern only on certain pages and you can see the pattern used on the iPhone mockups.

With the iPhone mockups i have decided to keep them all the same size on the pages to keep a consistency i have also used the same typeface used on the packaging for a sub title on this specific page.

APP -

Specific aesthetics for the app that i decided were how the landing pages would have a 50% opacity and be slightly faded like some apps that you get on a iPhone.

I also decided to use the three small dots to represent which page you are currently on and which page is next.

I kept the same consistency for the pages that all have a tab along the bottom so everything is familiar and easy to navigate.

As i beginning to carry on designing the look book and app i am glad i made note of the final as ethics so i can apply the specific points to were ever needed. This will keep everything consistent and work well as a new look and style for the Asos D&AD brief.
