Module Evaluation

MODULE EVALUATION

1 What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them?

I think I have developed the ability to try new things. I was really interested in producing an installation although the experience was tedious and stressful It helped me to widen my ability to work with new materials. I have also developed the skills to create stronger concepts instead of going with the first idea I get. I have learnt to take a step back from my work and analyse what I am doing and where I want it to go.

2  What approaches to/methods of design production have you developed and how have they informed your design development process?

Trying new production methods such as 3d design also trying new binding methods such as wire bind. This really helped my studio brief 1 as I was unsure of the initial outcome I tested a prototype which worked really well this also prevented me from making spelling mistakes or any print errors. I have definitely used Photoshop a lot through this module I feel I am getting better at using it. Photography definitely had a big part in my design production, as I needed to practice to take the best images possible.

What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these?

Strength of mine throughout the module would be taking the time to experiment and produce mock-ups before creating the final piece. Also making sure I document my work more than I have in the past by taking more images, this has helped benefit me as I could see my project developing as It went on.

4. What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these in the future?

A weakness of mine would be not setting aside enough time as a I would of liked and I would of liked to produce more proposed deliverables to help my work be more accurate, photography took up a lot of my time. A weakness would be me not practicing enough with the tools in Photoshop as my images didn’t edit as well as I would of liked to I will definitely practice on Photoshop so I can benefit my self more in the third year when photographing other work.

5.
Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing these?
  • Manage my time better so I can achieve a higher quality of work in a shorter time.
  •  Proof read thoroughly to avoid spelling mistakes or any spacing.
  • Practice more photography to help me progress and achieve high quality images.
  • Make more mock-ups this will help me have more variation with my work and make it more precise.
  • Try different stocks so I am not limiting my self to certain styles of design.
