ASOS - Putting the App together

ASOS - PUTTING THE APP TOGETHER

For my main deliverable for the ASOS - D&AD app i produced an app proposal with the help of my friend who is a  games & film design student from LCA. I sent him the illustrator file with my designed app mocked up and he began putting together an image sequence.

To begin Andrew had to put all the images in order the proposed app would work by where ever you clicked on the screen it would slide to the next image.

We began by checking the document to make sure everything was in the right place and would work smoothly. The content was made into a link that we could view on iPhones so we could next film it.

We set up lighting in my friends bedroom to ensure there would be no shadow cast .

We next put a large white piece of card on to a white board which would be held up to film the video. This would give the film a nice white backdrop.
We began doing test shots as i directed where to click on the app.
Andrew made sure everything was lined up. We made the decision to use Toms hand to hold the phone and Andrew would click the iPhone to make the images move. This would risk it being wonky and or moving a lot.

Once we had a successful run through of the video we began putting it into a film editing programme and make sure the video was bright enough and worked how we wanted.
We decided to add the song NO TOMORROW - ORSON to the video its a upbeat song that works for the feel good friendly genuine aesthetics of the app.

Andrew next had the Asos discover fashion online to appear before the film started rolling and then it would fade into Revive the name i had given the brief.

Me and Andrew referred back to the brief to make sure the film format was correct and the MB was within the boundaries.

This is our finished video put together ready for submission.

My finished App proposal

I am very pleased with the outcome and I'm glad i got involved with other students to make this video possible.
