Studio Task

Last session we were asked to find two examples for each of the following

PRINT CATEGORIES-
COLOUR
FORMAT
PRODUCTION
PROCESSES
FINISHING
STOCK

GROUP DISCUSSION
Our summative notes

We discussed what we got for each of the list and made some notes on what we agreed on.

FORMAT- what we design for , layout composition - leaflets posters physical object. Might be different styles of print of the same piece. Design context for format and also scale the appropriate sizes e.g.. billboard.

COLOUR - cymk , rgb , monotype , connotations different colours. Red eg. Danger , Take different cultures into consideration. Colour theory e.g. Complimentary contrasting.

PRODUCTION - Book binding screen printing craft, physical production more.

PROCESSES -  embossing , stamping , letter press , foiling . We agreed its more to do with print production and craft.

FINISHING - anything you do at the end. Eg spot varnish but we also agreed these are processes.

STOCK - Material - Anything you print onto some process work on certain stocks.

We had quite a big group discussing about the Difference between processes & production we agreed that Processes - preparation , bringing all the elements together they all interlink.

We next in the class all read out individual sections of there summative anwers and we decided on the most suitable ones.

CLASS LIST

What is....

FORMAT - scale & size & working within that.

COLOUR - colour modes , hues , function , ect.

PRODUCTION -" The actual making of it "

PROCESSES - The Method

FINISHING - production & process

STOCK - substrates for printing.

You cant have certain categories without the other eg. no format without stock.
We realised that all of the categories interlink and we tried defining each one to the best of our ability.

We should research , discuss , where can we take it ? up to us how we approach it ...
