What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them?

I have learnt what its like to work in a team for a longer period of time, previous group briefs haven’t lasted as long and for our communication is a virus we were required to work with the same people on numerous tasks. I have learnt it’s important to listen to everyone and split the work evenly and efficiently. These skills learnt from working in a group has prepared me for further group briefs and will continue to prepare me for the industry.

What approaches to/methods of design production have you developed and how have they informed your design development process?

For the secret 7 brief we had to come up with a number of outcomes for a week brief I believe that this helped me get the best possible results as I worked under pressure. Making possible variations of the same document was quicker than creating different ideas as I was just changing shapes and colours this was an affective method as it helped me decide the most appropriate one and colour choice.

What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these?

My strengths from this module would be carrying on learning and developing skills in InDesign these helped me execute my animal spread publication at a high standard. I also feel as though strength of mine would be taking on lots of roles in group work to achieve the best outcomes

What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these in the future?

Although I feel like working in groups for two of the briefs, communication is a virus & speaking from experience. I feel sometimes as I am so used to doing briefs by my self that I don’t give 100% focus to some tasks.  Although I have changed the amount of digital mock-ups and drawings now rather than before I still feel I could produce more. Another weakness would be I didn’t measure and give my self enough time to complete the packaging for my speaking from experience It ended up being to small which left me having to create a new one.

Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing these?

•  I will try setting my self little tasks more frequently I think this will help me be more prepared and used to group work.

•  I will create more digital mock-ups and more hand drawn sketches to improve my variety for the best possible outcomes.

•  I will use InDesign more as its really useful for publications and grids.

•  I will definitely research into packaging more as the packaging that was first created for speaking from experience didn’t work.

•  I think I felt more rushed towards the end of this deadline rather than others so I will make sure I plan my time better.
